When wing-nuts cry...or is it when fat pigs fly??

Three things that bug me...
1 - Why is it when a people can't agree politically , they start name calling with terms like evil?

2 - Why are people who claim to be the real tolerant and progressive thinkers are so bent on using every device imaginable to convince someone else to believe what they believe, and failing to do that, resort to ridicule, mockery and slanderous  contempt? (see point 1)

3 - Why are people that believe in fiscal conservatism thought of as " brain dead knuckle dragging mouth breathers"  while the left proclaims "Democrats have to have guts... Now we have to have the guts to take the majority that the American people have given to us and do something... And what we have to do is solve people's problems."
(See points 1 and 2)

HUH?

Solve problems by exacerbating the depth of fiscal follies, know as the Stimulus Plan, the TARP, the Comprehensive Health Care Reform Act and what next?

People are still losing their homes, still out of work, still working for less money.
I am tired of being beat over the head with the idea that people are the reason for so much of whats wrong..
In government, particularly at the federal level, who has stepped up and said "...before we continue, lets take a look at what we are spending money on, and find out if somethings can be cut....before we add to the bill being paid by the taxpayers." and meant it?

And when someone does say that, why is OK  for someone     opposed to that idea to open a big can of class warfare and say because they want to  trim fat from the budget, it means they don't care about people? (see points 1-3, repeating over and over)

These are all arguments that have been posted in thousands of blogs....all I am saying is why are we so much in an up the rhetoric mode for the last 20 years in this country?

Can we ever return to civility when commentators of the left and right throw grenades at each other?

And why is Kool Aid considered a bad thing?

  1. What are the ingredients in Kool-Aid?

  2. Kool Aid contains fruit flavoring, citric acid, calcium phosphate, salt and Vitamin C.
The powder is emptied into a container, sugar or sugar substitute is added and water to make a beverage.
It was real popular in the 1960-80's, not so much now.
According to Kraft Foods, Kool-Aid was invented around 1927 by Edwin Perkins and his wife Kitty in Hastings, Neb. The couple was running a mail order business called Perkins Products Company, which sold over 125 products nationally. One of the couple's best sellers was a drink syrup called Fruit Smack. In an effort to cut shipping costs, Perkins got rid of the 4 oz. glass bottles that Fruit Smack syrup was sold in and instead packaged it as a concentrated powder in an envelope. Kool-Aid was born.

  3. You know when someone starts with the insults that they have no answer to your argument. If it is where they begin, then there is no point in talking to them in the first place.
The most abused epithet right now is the term "racist." It really lost its meaning years ago, but they still won't drop it. Peter Brimelow came up with a new definition some years ago that reflects the most common usage:
Racist - someone who is winning an argument with a liberal.
