We left Springfield Oregon at a leisurely 8:20AM, and basically drove all day, with a couple of quick stops. In Weed, CA to visit Mt. Shasta Brewing, which did not open until 2PM, so it was a quick stop, and back onto the highway.
Stopped in Mt Shasta City for gas, and "supplies" (aka Mt Shasta Brewing beer), then back on the road.
Stopped in Chico, bought some more "supplies" at the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Back on road.
Stopped in Sacramento for some HB supplies, aka cigars...you guessed it, back on road.
Arrived Home-whew!!
Epilogue
We traveled about 2500 miles, saw a lot of places, and now have a better idea where we might move to after I retire. At most I want to work full time for another couple of years and then retire, and move, and then maybe start a consulting business part-time. I tried that before, and got a lot of offers, but decided to wait. If I wait, then I will have saved enough money to draw to supplement our income until HB gets Social Security and can also start withdrawing on the IRA. I figure I might do the consulting thing for 4 or five years and then totally retire. As one of my relatives who is now 79 told me, retire young enough to enjoy it...which makes sense to me!
