9/11

Grief is the most patient and persistent of all of life’s companions.
It is an ancient, universal power that links all human beings together.

  1. I was teaching that morning. Another teacher came in and whispered to me that under no circumstances was I to turn on the classroom television. Her words were something like "It appears we are under attack, but at this time it isn't known by whom."

  2. I think we all remember exactly what we were doing when we found out. I was getting ready for work, and watched on TV, shocked, and angry...nobody at office knew what we should do, so i went in as usual, was met at normal cardlock door by armed officer who checked my ID before i could swipe my card. By 11 Pacific time we were all told to go home. I think we ended up staying home for the rest of the week, working from home.
