Anybody reading this stuff???

I mean here's the deal...this is my page, at least the way its populated with my personal thoughts on things, the pictures, music I like, videos I like, etc.. But mostly the blogs. These are sometimes short and pointless, other times not. But its my time and effort, usually after a day of work, after cooking dinner, after doing dishes, when I have MY TIME to collect my thoughts and hopefully put something coherent on here.

I notice that most of the time two or three people are listed as reading the blog, sometimes one or NONE, and when I bash Obama, maybe 9 or more.

So I take from that that there is a lot of interest on here about national politics and how they suck, and not so much about me, my life, etc. Except the only reason I write about Obama is because his activities in office, his "leadership" is impacting my life, and yours.

So today on the drive home I hear that the "plan" is for me to pay taxes on my health insurance if I make a certain amount of money...I don't make that kind of money, but do worry about losing the insurance I have, and knowing my employer, they can't wait to dump the coverage and put it on the taxpayers.

  1. Yep, I read your comments. I may not always comment, but I stop by and read. I am sick over this scam being perpetrated by a Congress that has ceased to care what we think or what we want ages ago. We don't represent $$$ to them the way business and induatry do, so why listen to us! (We can still throw their butts out of office, though.) Yes, they have been talking for quite some time about taxing some people's health benefits (if they make a certain amount). They want to gouge us all---so for the middle class out of work but with some savings, they want to make us buy insurance of have assets seized (FASCISM!) and for those middle class and well-enough-off who have benefits through work, they want to tax to help pay the premiums of the so-called "poor." America really needs to wake up. We need to have health savings accounts, not mandatory insurance!

  2. Once again, I have to disagree with you Ron. The costs of health care is just too great for health savings plans to work. Just going in for a test, not a surgerical procedure, but just a test to see if you are sick, can costs several thousands dollars. The average cost for a colonoscopy, depending on the facility, can be over $6000.00. They recommend people over 40 years of age to get these every 10 years unless at risk, then they should be perform more often. The problem is that health care is a huge business and it is about making as much money as possible, with the smallest expenditures. Health care costs climb faster than the rate of inflation. Why is that? So far no one has a clear answer. The answer is to have a collective system where the taxpayers work together, much as with the transportation system in America. Let the for profit hospitals continue. Let the citizens own and operate non-profit facilities that charge on a sliding scale that will compete with the for profit. In order for this real health care reform citizen owned non-profit system to work, we have to kick all the bleeding health care lobbyists and the fat arsed Congressperson that sells their soul to them out of Washington.

Why did Americans put these worthless scumbags in office? Why did Americans listen to a song and dance and put the Glorious Leader into office? I guess they are getting the government they deserve even if I have to suffer along with them.

  3. until today never seen you in the inbox. but hey I find if you want people to at least look the best way is to post a blog and spend a little time checking out as many friends as you can each day and sharing your views on their blogs. like you I think most of us don't get many readers unless we bad mouth someone. and that sadly comes back to the media and all the reporters who pumped that kind of publicity down our throats as we grew up. if it aint doom or gloom it aint news according to them.

I often wonder how long it will be before they start reporting the news another reporter was killed today covering a murder story. do you think they will still report doom and gloom when that starts to happen?

  4. Actually, I like it when people post a variety of content. Sometimes you may need to express different thoughts than just being screwed by the government.

  5. Australia has a national health care plan which is covered by a 1% income tax and 2% of the GST which everyone pays. as a result we don't have a black market of life saving drugs stolen and sold. the levels of common sickness are at lows while surgery is moving at a faster rate to be honest if your country can not make it work then someone needs to be drawn and quartered

  7. Here is how Congress is claiming they can force Americans to buy a product from a private company; which I think will be a first in history and will set a very bad precedent. Congress claims the bit in the Constitution about regulating commerce gives them the authority. Yes, that is a bit of a stretch, but Congresspeople are very flexible, at least when it comes to screwing the people while helping the rich. I disagree, for one thing, health insurance is not even traded across state lines because Congress passed a law preventing it. Furthermore, in case you did not know this, health insurers are exempt from antitrust laws. Yes, you read that correctly. They can do anything they like to control and manipulate the market, such as fixing prices, and there is not a damn thing anyone can do about it.

  8. The problem with the US government is that it is it has been brought out. The Representatives and Senators don't give a damn about the people. The only time they pay attention to the people is when they are trying to get into office. The insurers and the drug companies and big health care corporations don't want to see health care reform in the US. So they have brought and bribed Congress to do nothing and they are going to pass a bill that will help the rich fat arses while stealing money from the citizens. The US government is one of the worst corrupted governments on the face of the planet.

  9. to be honest you would be better off with the model that works here in Australia it is country wide and we also allow optional private health coverage as well which means a person on private can get better treatment then one getting country funded eg it's the difference between a plastic hip replacement and a metal one.

I will stress this point health service for the public sector only works with uniform coverage and controlled pricing all our Doctors are set on controlled wage brackets and the whole industry is regulated as a result

Personally I believe everyone should have a right to health care as treatment of one illness can stop a plague killing thousands.

I know most people value life as the price of paper that money is printed on but life all life can not be bought back for the price of paper trade.

  10. It is unlikely that I will read or respond to political rants, since I don't believe we are going to get anywhere by means of politics. If you get to the base of the problems, the solution lies in how we are, our human nature, do we dedicate it to being and doing good or not?

  11. I have no idea how you got into my inbox today.. I suppose providence required a comment. You will always get responses when you write about politics or religion because everyone wants to have their say, thinking it is the only right view on the subject.
When you (meaning anybody) blogs on a more personal level, you do so hoping that someone will reach out in response and share in your joys. sorrows. frustrations, etc. Often they do not..but you should continue to write, regardless. I have found that many of my blogs go unread...and then, suddenly someone drops by, reads some of the old threads and is touched by them. Just as I was drawn here today somehow, I believe that by sharing, you will find what you need...and others may find some peace or help in your words...the words of a stranger

  12. I have seen many with the "bury my head in the sand syndrome" and that just means things will continue along as they are now, or actually get worst. People respond to political postings; rants has a connotation along the lines of out of control ramblings and that is not what Canice posts, she posts political commentary, because politics is one area that affects our lives so profoundly and people are very concern with it.

The solution is for us to become involved and to start pushing to end lobbying in Congress by the big corporations. What happened with the healthcare reform was from day one the healthcare industry got involved and started buying off Congress so they would not have any changes to their cash cow.

  13. So I ask you why hasn't anyone esp the lawyers taken the matter before the courts and had an investigation conducted, rounded up the criminals and placed them in jail where they rightly belong?

    ReplyDelete
  14. The lawyers are scumbags that only care about themselves, even when you are paying them to work for you. There are very few working for the people. The governments and courts are brought and paid for. The Republic is close to collapse and then the real problems will begin for the masses.

  15. you certainly paint a pretty picture of riots, murder and tragic lost of life for the future of America but they do say greed has it's own reward

  16. Here is the way I envision the future for the USA. The United States economy is gone, being propped up by selling its debt, which just makes things worst as there is interest to pay; The US just dug a deeper hole. The Glorious Leader, which was proclaimed by the masses as being so smart, drove a few more nails in the coffin by escalating the war in Afghanistan; this will help to ensure the collapse of the United States much as it did with the Soviet Union. Now if China does not come marching in to take over to collect on the debt owed by the US to China, the Untied States will break apart along geographical boundaries, the northeastern states will form a lose confederation, the southern states will form a lose confederation, and so forth. Interstate commerce will become a nightmare as there will be no common currency. In fact, everyone will lose any money they do hold as it will be Federal Reserve Notes and usless, The states will convert their national guards, and any military bases in the confederation will be commandeer, to their military. There will be no United States government. It will not be a pretty state of affairs. Maybe in the long run it will work itself out and the confederations will be able to provide for basic needs of the people. The confederations may eventually form into nations; hopefully the people will have learned something and demand a real and solid governement that is not corrupted and serving special interests groups. Then again, maybe it will become the United States of China; couldn't be any worst that the government we have now.

  17. well that is true and also their is no secret that China is looking for a new outpost given it's over population of it's current holdings sadly your latest comment reflects a lot on my last one with the addition of China's role yet to be played out

Abe Lincoln one said " A house divided can not stand" maybe we are seeing this here as a prelude to civil war and a splitting of the Nation which would make the South very happy.Even the mighty Rome grew to a point where it could not defend it's own holdings given the greed of Humans

  18. I have long felt this a sensible approach.

  19. And just how are most Americans going to accomplish this? The minimum wage in America has only just climbed to $7.25 and even if one is working full time (40 hour week) that is still living in poverty and just one step away from living on the streets. Those who don't live in the world of worrying if one is going to be able to put food on the table the next day don't have a clue.
