You and I have a rendezvous with destiny.
We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness.
If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done.
-Ronald Reagan
From his "A Time for Choosing" speech, I believe. It is a really good one, and everything is very relevant for today, even though it was first given in 1964.
ReplyDeleteLiberals will make fun of Reagan forever....but I can tell you...in my lifetime, he is going to be heralded as the most amazing President and leader of this country.
ReplyDeleteGood quote Canice...especially now
ReplyDeleteThe earth's 6th major extinction event, already in progress, will really make itself felt around 2030-2040. By the end of the century, the earth's human population will be cut from some 9 billion to 3 billion individuals. 70% of all life will perish in this extinction. The extinction rate currently is 100 times normal and biodiversity is dropping rapidly. Biodiversity is THE indication of the earth's health. All the little minds concentrated on politics and petty conflicts and all the rest of the crap that characterizes humanity will soon have a hell of a lot more to worry about. Mankind is toast.
