Bill Clinton did more for world peace as president and as an ex president, and he gets snubbed so the Norwegians can award it to Obama...now I know the world has lost its mind.

KABUL - U.S. forces have withdrawn from an isolated base in eastern Afghanistan that insurgents attacked last week in one of the deadliest battles of the war for U.S. troops, the NATO-led coalition said Friday.
The pullout from the Kamdesh outpost near the Pakistani border is likely to embolden insurgent fighters in the region. The Taliban swiftly claimed "victory" for forcing the coalition to leave and said they had raised their flag above the town.
Speaking by telephone from an undisclosed location, Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said the U.S. bombarded the outpost with airstrikes after leaving, as well as the local police headquarters.
"This means they are not coming back," Mujahid said. "This is another victory for Taliban. We have control of another district in eastern Afghanistan."
"Right now Kamdesh is under our control, and the white flag of the Taliban is raised above Kamdesh," Mujahid said.
In a statement Friday, the NATO-led force said troops and equipment were moved "to other locations in eastern Afghanistan in preparation for future assignment to more populated areas."
For losing Afghanistan? I did not know it ever belonged to the US. Don't worry, if you want the US to destroy Afghanistan, just wait. Obama wants to escalate the war in Afghanistan, wants to send even more troupes there. It seems they gave the peace prize to a war monger. Then again, maybe that is why they did it, to back the Glorious Leader into a corner so he may be more reluctant to bring the world closer to WWIII. Mmmm, that just might work if he does not reject the peace prize.
ReplyDeleteOn second thought, I doubt it; people like the Glorious Leader will accept a peace prize and still wage war.
ReplyDeleteCan he reject the award, and keep the cash? I thinks a million or so...
ReplyDeleteHe donated the 1.4 million to charity.
ReplyDeleteSecret I think you mean troops right? Although I bet the soldiers in Afghanistan could use a troupe break. Perhaps even a trollop.
Obama is War Monger? That is news to me.

Gee, it's a far off sight, and I'm inside with my head stuck inside a composter, compactor, no wait, computer, but Canada is looking awfully purdy these days! (Think they'd mind if I brought along a cord or two of Texas liveaok for the winter???)
ReplyDeleteI was very surprised when my husband gave me this news. It seems backwards to me. Shouldn't he have done something major for peace first rather than just having stated intentions? Maybe they hope by giving him a prize for peace, he will feel obligated to make peace? I do not believe war leads to peace. I do not believe true peace can be imposed by force--it must come from within. It is up to each Afghan to make peace with his neighbour.
ReplyDeleteI agree with secretcorners Afghanistan does not "belong" to the US so how can it be "lost"?
Here is reality. The Taliban are funded in large part by poppy agriculture. One large drug dealing organization. Just google this "afghanistan drug trade"
ReplyDeleteThen you will see.
Several posters refer to Afghanistan cannot be lost because it does not belong to America. Apparently the rhetorical context was what was lost...In my own way I was referring of course to losing the ideological battle that America has currently with bin Laden and his cohort. Either way the Afghani people lose...if we prevail, they get a corrupt and inept government, and if the Taliban/al Qaeda prevail, they get to go back to the way it was in 2001, daily executions in the soccer stadium for listening to western music, beatings for men shaving their beard...no, on second though i think we need to prevail, unless you really think people like having their lives controlled. Me, i personally would take corrupt and inept any day...heck, we have that here now, don't we?
ReplyDeleteThe taliban are the poster children for hypocrisy..extolling virtue and simultaneously profitting from opium being sold to the decadent west...
