He finally said it...the words war on terror. Almost.
He cant though. Not after vilifying the previous administration for using scare tactics.
So what now Mr. President?
"This was a screw up that could have been disastrous," he said at the meeting, according to a senior administration official. "We dodged a bullet but just barely. It was averted by brave individuals not because the system worked and that is not acceptable. While there will be a tendency for finger pointing, I will not tolerate it."
I feel so much safer now...
<sarcasm off>
There is much more hope in individuals than in the system.
ReplyDeleteMore people have died in airline crashes due to company not maintaining the planes properly, or because they overworked the pilots causing them to make errors, than has ever been caused by terrorists. Yet, did they do anything about that? Did they spend millions of taxpayers dollars then? This whole war on terrorists is just so much horse manure. Fear is a very powerful tool to get those you want to subjugate willing for you to subjugate them.
ReplyDeleteJust look at what people are willing to do to ride on a bleeding plane, it is just unreal. If Americans would just stop being sheep, maybe things can be turned around.
ReplyDeleteThe interesting part of this is that the american system itself failed and somehow the whole world must spend millions to install security measures demanded by the USA if they want to travel to the states.
ReplyDeleteOr they could just tell the US to go F themselves. Or maybe they are just waiting for the collapse of the US which will be in about five years time if the US continues with the current state of affairs.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what to believe on this one. He has told conflicting stories, so we can just quote whichever one we like.
ReplyDeleteSomeone said that they intended to question this guy when teh airplane landed in Detroit. That was not a very good procedure for prevention, as it was only luck and/or the terrorist's incompetence that prevented the airplane being brought down over southern Ontario.
Some people get fired for negligence that costs money. The losses here would only be people, I suppose. Is that why they don't care.
