The other day one of my longtime web based pals wrote about losing friends and a general slow down in traffic on Multiply. It started me thinking about it. Again.
Well, its official, I have 20 friends now on Multiply. And of those I would say I regularly hear from maybe a dozen. Which means over the course of the last year and a 1/2 I have probably lost 8 people.
On the other hand, on Twitter, i am always gaining followers, same on Facebook. But those are different sites, with different demographics, and honestly more visibility than Multiply...I mean when do you see news stories about Multiply? I never have and honestly hope I don't. Because as long as Multiply is like it is, maybe, just maybe, the people you meet here are interested in maintaining some contact, for whatever reason. Maybe not anymore than elsewhere. So, thanks for being my friends.
For those that left, I guess it was a bad match, so it probably is better for both of us you are gone.
I hear your words .....I'm intuiting that those remaining on Multiply are of a different energy a higher consciousness and do not fit to well in that main stream self centerness that is into texting rather than conecting....
ReplyDeleteI to am remaining because the energy here is of a higher
frequency from people who care about us each other and
the world they are creating..
I checked out FB and checked out.
ReplyDeleteI don't bother with Twitter either.
The folks I've met on multiply are the best.
Think I'll stick around, hope you do too ;)
I may be gone myself. Just saw where Multiply has an API for developers to write applications for Multiply. This is the nightmare on FaceSucks that suckers so many people in. If they are not giving away their identities, they are getting viruses and trojans by clicking on the FaceSucks applications. It is bad enough Multiply has a bad TOS, now they are going to allow apps. No thank you.
ReplyDeleteI've about had it here too. Y! 360 screwed us all and then put up a silly Facefook-looking piece of junk. Now, Multiply, which got most of its members from 360 is just turning into the silliest crap ever. What the Hell---why do these networks try to pattern themselves on the worst junk on the Internet?
ReplyDeleteOh. Reading the comments here, I had no idea that's what apps would mean. I like blogs written by individuals expressing their personal feelings. I like room for creativity. I like people working for a better world. I pretty well stay away from politics. Just my opinion... And why does value have to be based on numbers? We are all individuals, not cookie cut outs of the mass.
ReplyDeleteTis always good to see you hon. As for me...I'm going no where. ;o)
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU ALL who commented.
ReplyDeleteTo specifically address the comment about numbers, I want to make it clear. I AM NOT into numbers, so that was not the thought I was trying to convey.
I think the strength of anything is a core of devoted and sincere people. So if you are sticking around, I'll be here.
One of the big turn offs to FB I have is the way to post your blog to note... and an even bigger turn off to me is the absolutely bazillion add-on application requests...and the fact that everyone I know has a FB page...same with Twitter.
Me personally, i use twitter very infrequently. Blogging is more my speed. If it takes me all night to write something, so what? And I want to use more than 100 characters to do so...
Canice
OMG! I looked this up and found the site for developers. Bummer...Multiply IS going down the same path as Yahoo, Spacebook .
ReplyDeleteJesus f***ing Christ! If Multiply goes belly up...I quit. I'm not moving anywhere again...I'll just f***ing retire from online life.
ReplyDeleteOkies...I apologize for the emotional outburst.
