Why there is a movement called the TEA Party

I was driving home from work the other day, and listening to a radio talk show it occurred to me that the caller and the moderator missed the point entirely. Sure people are scared, and upset with run away spending, of our sour economy not putting people to work, etc. All valid points.

But to me, why I  went to the Capitol last year, is pretty simple. I am tired of the lying. I am tired of the elected failing to do what we elected them to do, govern. I am tired of being told what I want to hear, when I need to be told the truth, and not some partisan BS, the truth.

People got fed up with the democrats, and tossed em out in 94, and let the republicans have a shot at it. They failed, and were booted out, and we let the democrats play some more, and they are even worse than than before...and now we realize that the people that could do the job don't ever get the job because honest middle of the road people can't get elected...they don't have the political machine or money to do so. So we end up electing fools.

When I was younger, i would listen to politicians on TV and wonder how much of what they said was lies; today I wonder if anything they say is true. Ever hear the saying " You know a politician is lying if his lips are moving"?

My son in law asked me once if I thought things would get better; I said yes, but I really think its a qualified yes...I don't think this country is headed towards the kind of prosperity enjoyed after WWII by our parents ( and us as children)...but who knows?

  1. We need a truly constitutionalist party so that honest, middle-of-the-road people can have the money and the machine they need to get elected and once again insure that the Constitution IS the supreme law of the land.

  2. So you see, politics is not the answer.

  3. The answer is to do away with political parties. As long as we have this big powerful political party, the Demo/Repub controlling everything nothing will change. Political parties are about power and control, not working to govern the country and make sure things are working smoothly. Of course the party will do everything in order to stay in power.

  4. Like I said...When I was younger, i would listen to politicians on TV and wonder how much of what they said was lies; today I wonder if anything they say is true.

The consenus opinion in the print media I read is that for example the President's Health care summit was a media event, not a serious policy discussion. I even read there is "...growing legitimate concern about the current administration's competency...."

Not by me, i doubted it from day 1

  5. It will get better despite government, not because of it. The job of the government is outlined in the constitution. They are messing with all kinds of things outside their rightful domain and neglecting the responsibilities that they are supposed to be tackling. The limits on government are designed to keep it from interfering with our liberty. We can decide for ourselves how we want to live.

  6. The only time a politician ISN'T lying is when he's exposing some dirt on his rival politicians.
