I have been plugging away at this blog on a semi regular basis since December 2005...at first on Yahoo 360, then later migrating to Multiply.
The lack of interaction, comments especially, has lead me to explore why. I think its because I am boring, maybe too opinionated, or what?
Anyway, I doubt I will post with increased regularity given the total absence of any meaning to it anymore. I mean when people write comments and tell me I am full of it, that's one thing, but I doubt I've more than a dozen people look at any of these writings, so I am mostly doing this for myself, and frankly a private journal is not what I had intended here.
So while I am not going to quit, I guess writing a few times a month is about has good as it will get.
I used ot enjoy the debate here about different political topics, but since I now work for a uber-liberal lefty atheist, I have my hands full daily representing the libertarian and time to time conservative viewpoints, only because no one else will where I am, they are afraid to become engaged w the boss.
I would be afraid too except the people above him (my boss) like me, and the people under me all are secretly cheering me on, I supposed tired of years of mental abuse for not agreeing on everything. That absence of views is stifling, regardless of views.
So there is one good point out of three about your boss. That is not that bad of odds, your boss could have been a uber-liberal lefty believer-in-the-magical-sky-daddy.
ReplyDeleteI quoted the line but you changed the post and bam, next thing I knew it was quoting the entire post, and you can not edit the part of the quote without deleting the whole comment.
ReplyDeleteI don't blog here any more, only do quick little blurbs using the other post types. I do have my blog outside of Multiply. You make good money, buy some shared hosting, a domain name, and download Quam Plures and set up a blog site of your own. Ping the blog aggregators and reach beyond Multiply.
ReplyDeleteI've found unless I keep it regularly my personal posts don't get much play. Find a group you like and post there. Even if you're sporadic you'll get a lot more viewers and commenter.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you! I seldom bother to give an opinion online anymore because too many either just don't care (the gubment is ok, or so they say on the news) or don't want to know that there are people who don't buy the globalist bs.
ReplyDeleteI seriously don't believe we have democracy in the USA or the world anywhere anymore (I mean how can any nation elect so damn many morons!). So to speak my opinion just seems futile. (I guess people are not noticing money that has no value, taxes that never go down, rights that don't make themselves and are getting fewer and fewer, politicians who don't seem to think where they were born matters, and judges who think it is ok if you lose your property because the Bubbas at city hall think you are not making full good use of it like some rich developer could.)
So blogging sites are mostly now "Do you like my kitty?" and so on.
Or, "Does this blog make my butt look bigger?" :-)
ReplyDeleteRon and I blog, we just don't do it here on Multiply
ReplyDeleteI don't think it is possible to progress if everyone just says yes. We need a lot of creative input.
ReplyDeleteAre you saying that atheists are not libertarian? Maybe I should look in the dictionary.
Are you saying that atheists are not libertarian?
ReplyDeleteNo...my boss and I are sort of opposites, which was what I was trying to illustrate.
I find you neither boring or uninteresting.........I DO find myself overworked at home and AT work. I'll try and do better about stopping by.
ReplyDeleteIf you want lots of traffic you have to have your own domain, and the biggest thing is it takes a lot of work and a lot of posting. I'm not interested in doing that myself, it just sin't the sort of thing I have the talent for. My posts have become rarer and rarer on here, but I don't really let it bother me.
ReplyDeleteI do like to come and see your page because you do make some good points. As for some of the groups, I have only looked a couple of times, and seeing people insult each other is too common to bother with. It's everywhere anyway.
A good place to go for discussion might be ricochet.com. To post you have to pay just under $4 per month, which keeps the jerks out. It doesn't take much.
