The media has been making my brain hurt with the multiple variations of how screwed the world is going to be depending on what happens if (regarding Egypt)
Its all our fault because of (pick one or more) we suck and are evil / we are stupid and greedy, using all that corn for fuel/global warming, caused by us
Gasoline $5 a gallon by next month, blah blah blah
Don't even get going on what a jerk ob ama is, now the Saudis are pissed off, because (1) the king and Mubarak are pals and (2) seeing how BO piped up to dump the pres of egypt when things looked bleak, how confident would YOU be with the US as an ally?
To make matters worse apparently Obama gave British military [nuclear] secrets to the Russians recently.
ReplyDeleteSeems the destroyer of the west and of allies has been very busy at work.
At first the O administration supported Mubarek before they dumped him under the bus tires. What a friend indeed.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, the US is good at overthrowing democratically elected governments and installing ruthless dictators in their place. Just give the US some time. Soon another ruthless dictator will be in Egypt, throwing people into prison if they dare speak out against the government, and ensuring they can only manage a meagre existence.
ReplyDeleteYeah, why in hell are the people raising up in protest? After all, 30 years as the President he must be a really popular guy to keep getting elected to office. Just because he carries the title President does not mean he a man of the people. The elections are not open elections.
ReplyDeleteFrom the Wiki:
"President Mubarak has been re-elected by majority votes in a referendum for successive terms on four occasions: in 1987, 1993, 1999. The referendum in itself and its results are of questionable validity[who?]. No one could run against the President due to a restriction in the Egyptian constitution in which the People's Assembly played the main role in electing the President of the Republic."
Free and open elections are not always what they seem.
